STENCIL HARDENER
PRODUCT:
Screen printing stencil hardener.
USES:
To improve the water and abrasion resistance of screen stencils.
PROPERTIES:
- Hardens all stencils, making them suitable for water based inks.
- Considerably increases the print runs.
- The treatment with HB72 changes the emulsion color, allowing a visual inspection of the chemical treatment.
- Can be used on nylon or polyester meshes.
INSTRUCTIONS:
Prepare the stencil in the usual way (Fig. 1).
After drying, apply the HB72 Hardener with a soft brush or sponge on both sides of the stencil (Fig. 2).
Leave the screen standing for 10 minutes, while the stencil absorbs the product. Then, eliminate the residues from the open area with an air jet, aspirator or by wiping it with a soft cloth. (Fig. 3).
To complete the chemical hardening, leave the stencil in an oven at 140°F (60°C) for 10 minutes or under infrared lamps (Fig. 4).
Note: Longer time periods and higher temperatures will further increase the stencil resistance.
RECLAIMING:
Stencils hardened with HB72 might be more difficult to reclaim. In some cases, it is still possible to remove the emulsion using HB50 Stencil remover followed by a mixture of HB52 Ink remover and HB54 Alkaline paste.
WARNINGS:
Read the MSDS before using the products.
In case of contact with eyes, rinse opened eyes for several minutes under running water.
For people with dry or sensitive skin, it is advisable to wear protective gloves.
