2 COMPONENT ADHESIVE
PRODUCT:
Two component adhesive.
FORMS:
- Three types of adhesives: HV, NV and Normal.
- Three types of hardeners: Fast curing (red), Standard (blue or clear) and HV (clear).
- Set of 750 ml of adhesive and 150 ml of hardener or set of 5 liters of adhesive and 1 liter of hardener.
USE:
To fix meshes on metallic or wooden frames.
PROPERTIES:
- For a strong and permanent bond between wooden, aluminum or steel frames and nylon, polyester or metallic meshes.
- Decafix Regular and NV are suitable for general applications in screen printing.
- Decafix HV, with higher viscosity and solids, is recommended for screen printing meshes coarser than 54 threads/ inch (21 threads/cm). In filtration and sieving applications, for meshes coarser than 54GG and 315 micron opening.
- The Fast curing hardener (red) allows a more effective use of the stretching equipment. For use when high productivity
is needed. - With the Standard hardener, the mixed adhesive has a longer pot life. It is better for use in warm weather.
- The HV hardener is the catalyst for the adhesive Decafix HV. For fast curing and excellent adhesion. Colorless.
- After thoroughly cured (24 hours) Decafix 2 component adhesive is fully resistant to the solvents used in screen printing.
INSTRUCTIONS:
MIXING: Add the hardener in a 1:5 ratio, in volume (Fig.1). For example for 100 ml of Adhesive, add 20 ml of hardener.
In a clean container, mix the two components thoroughly. If the products are not mixed well or are contaminated with foreign material, the performance might be impaired.
If the Standard or HV hardeners are used, the mixture will have a pot life of about 2 hours. With the Fast curing hardener, the pot life will be about 1 hour. For use in very fine meshes, the viscosity can be adjusted by adding up to 10% of Decafix Solvent to the mixture. The use of other solvents may impair the performance of the adhesive.
USE: The frame should be clean and dry. Metallic frames can be sanded for better results (Fig. 2).
Place the frame in the stretching device. Apply the desired tension to the mesh. Make sure that there is a perfect contact between the mesh and the frame.
Apply the adhesive mixture with a soft brush (Fig. 3). Let it dry for about 15 minutes. If the Standard hardener is used, leave for longer period. Remove the frame from the stretching equipment.
The stretched frames can be used right away, but can only be exposed to strong solvents after a 24 hour curing period.
